Connectivity
Situated close to Manchester, we benefit from major connections to the rest of the UK, Europe, the USA and the rest of the world, through multiple carriers. This allows traffic to take the quickest available route and means we're not reliant on a single data network.
Purpose built data centre
The data centres we use are purpose built facilities which include raised flooring, multiple power suppliers, backup power generators, advanced security arrangements and VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) gas based fire supression systems.
Software
We offer Linux based servers which operate the "cpanel" control panel system. This gives users a great deal of control and functionality from a single interface.
We use Linux based servers as have found the reliability and functionality excellent when compared to others. Linux is also widely regarded to be the most popular hosting platform worldwide.
The control panel means you won't ever have to know or see any Linux code. All servers have PHP and MySQL as standard.
To ensure reliability, only stable software releases are installed.
Hardware
All servers utilise high quality components and parts.
Spare components are kept onsite to ensure that in the event of something going wrong replacement items can be swapped in with minimal disruption.
Backups
Regular backups are taken both internally on the server and to an external SAN (Storage Area Network) unit and NAS drive (Network Attached Storage) so that in the unlikely event of a problem data can be recovered - although it remains the customers responsibility to backup their own data regularly which can be done within the hosting control panel.
24/7 monitoring
Our servers are monitored day and night so that if a problem develops it can be resolved quickly. Our live uptime statistics can be found on our support website.
Security
Our servers are kept up to date and have many layers of security to help in protecting against emerging threats. These include:

Our hosting is suitable for running popular content management systems such as WordPress. If you want to setup a new website, WordPress can be installed directly in our control panel using the Softaculous app installer.
Your account space can be increased at anytime.
We monitor account usage and will normally temporarily increase space to ensure your website and emails continue to operate.
Yes. When your account is created we will send you the server details (nameservers) to connect your domain name to.
If you decide that you would also like to move the management of your domain name to us we can also take this over for you.
We encourage hosting customers to maintain their own sites, but if you need assistance in transferring your website, please contact us so that we can assess your existing setup.
